New GM Infrastructure appointed
Experienced executive John Maxwell has been appointed to the role of Port Taranaki General Manager Infrastructure.
Mr Maxwell, who is a former General Manager of Operations at Ballance Agri-Nutrients Ltd, has been contracted to Port Taranaki since February, assisting on infrastructure projects.
He will formally commence his role on 18 May, replacing Mark Webb, who retires in June.
During his time at Ballance, Mr Maxwell undertook a variety of roles covering delivery of strategic and operational outcomes. He has significant experience in a range of technical competencies, including oversight of engineering, maintenance, HSE, quality systems and projects.
“Like our port operations, Ballance has a major site in Kapuni that has complexity and a range of hazardous activities and I have already seen how John will add value on our site,” Port Taranaki chief executive Guy Roper said.
“His understanding of what operations require, combined with an open interaction with people and customers are key attributes, so his experience and knowledge in this infrastructure leadership role will be most valuable.”
