Experienced senior executive and director Peter Dryden has been appointed the new chairman of Port Taranaki Ltd following the company’s Annual General Meeting in New Plymouth today.
Mr Dryden, who was appointed to Port Taranaki’s Board of Directors in May 2016, was the managing director of Dow Agrosciences Australia and New Zealand for nine years until 2016, and is now a professional company director and advisor.
He succeeds retiring chairman John Auld who has been Port Taranaki’s chairman since September 2010.
“On behalf of the board and management of Port Taranaki, I would like to express our thanks to John Auld who, over 23 years as a director and chairman, has had a great influence on the growth and success of Port Taranaki, and overseen a significant transformation in the activities of the port,” Mr Dryden said.
“I look forward to stewarding Port Taranaki as chairman. A strong focus on innovation, productivity and growth by the management and board are required to continue the strong success of Port Taranaki.”
