Senior H&S Advisor

Our current Senior HS advisor has recently been promoted within the organisation and we are now seeking an experienced, energetic and persuasive professional, to help us continue our safety journey.

 

Port Taranaki has a forward thinking Board of Directors focused on reducing risk and harm, and an Executive Leadership team committed to doing safety differently. Our workforce and stakeholders are also engaged in developing, implementing and operating best practice safety systems.

 

This role reports to the Head of HR, Safety and Operations and also works alongside the CEO and Executive Leadership team.  The role is varied and busy and will have you involved in leading and coaching all aspects of Health and Safety across all levels of the organisation.

 

To be successful in this role you will need to;

 

  • Work professionally with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate skills in mentoring, advising, engaging and leading.
  • Exhibit proven performance in leading effective safety action and engaging managers, leaders and operators to achieve results.
  • Display experience in driving and delivering hands on health and safety policy, procedures and systems, including data management and reporting
  • Demonstrate drive, energy and a commitment to high standards.
  • Ideally have 5 years’ experience in a similar role with a formal recognised qualification in Health and Safety.

A sound knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and associated Regulations is essential.
