Port Taranaki is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead and coordinate our Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance team. Reporting to the Head of Infrastructure, you will be responsible for ensuring Port Taranaki’s, maintenance systems, strategies and programmes are optimised to meet the needs of the business.  You will ensure asset availability, reliability and performance both short and long term through work planning.

 

This critical leadership role will involve close liaison with key internal stakeholders to prepare and manage annual maintenance plans and  budgets, (operating and capital expenditure). You will ensure all projects undertaken by the Maintenance team are managed cost effectively and to quality outcomes.  In addition, you will be responsible for implementing and managing maintenance service agreements with external suppliers.

 

As a champion for continuous improvement, you will proactively identify improvement opportunities in all aspects of Maintenance operations.  Regulatory compliance in all aspects of maintenance operations, Hazardous Substances, Health & Safety, Building, Environmental and Electrical is critical while maintaining high standards of housekeeping across all maintenance facilities onsite.

A successful candidate will have;
- Demonstrated collaborative leadership skills
- Experience in maintenance planning, budgeting and cost control
- Relevant apprenticeship and Trade Certificate, with a tertiary qualification preferred including NZCE, Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a Trade/Maintenance role, with a 5+ years’ supervisory/leadership experience within a maintenance environment
- Proven experience in procurement and project management
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office, maintenance & safety management systems

 

Experience working in a Port environment and familiarity with the Health & Safety at Work Act would be an advantage.

 

A NZ work permit and full NZ Driver’s license is essential.

Port Taranaki is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will work alongside the Maintenance Supervisors and Leading Hands to support and optimise maintenance planning and programmes of work to meet organisational needs.

 

An excellent collaborator, you will engage with key stakeholders to prepare detailed work plans and quality control requirements for Maintenance programmes, campaigns and projects. You will work with Maintenance Supervisors in refining maintenance programmes and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Maintenance procedures and systems.

 

You will maintain both short and long-term maintenance plans and contribute to both the organisation’s Asset Management Plan and annual maintenance budgets (operating and capital expenditure), while ensuring regulatory compliance is met in all aspects of maintenance operations.

 

A successful candidate will have;
- Relevant apprenticeship and Trade Certificate preferred
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance planning, optimisation and project management, ideally 5 years minimum.
- Experience in maintenance budgeting and cost control
- Familiarity with Health & Safety at Work Act and associated regulations including Hazardous Substances, Environmental, Electrical and Building regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office and computerised maintenance systems
