Port Taranaki has a vacancy for a professional and experienced Tanker Terminal Superintendent at the Newton King Tanker Terminal (NKTT). This terminal serves the Petrochemical industry and is a major contributor to the Taranaki economy. It handles a wide range of petrochemical products and bulk liquids including crude oils, methanol and LPG.
Candidates will require a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Petrochemical industry and preferably Maritime or Tanker Exposure with a working knowledge of the International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals. Proven leadership experience with ability work in a team environment is critical for this role. Key responsibilities include liaising with ships’ masters, port users and staff to ensure the Tanker Terminal operates efficiently. You will be part of a team who is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining safe operating procedures and systems relating to NKTT operations, and ensuring Port Taranaki practices are compliant with the International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals. This role will also support our Permit Office, provide operational support in the role of alternate Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO), assist with emergency procedures and act as Incident Controller where required.
This role involves day and night shifts so an ability to work flexible working hours is required.
