Permits to Work

All work, other than defined routine work, undertaken for Port Taranaki in designated areas must be done under permit. All persons carrying out work by permit must complete a Port Taranaki induction by attending an induction course and successfully completing a test.

Permit applications are handled by the Duty Superintendents at Newton King Tanker Terminal.

All persons undertaking work by permit must wear appropriate safety clothing and equipment of a type that complies with current New Zealand standards, recognised codes and guidelines, and be suitable for the task at hand. The provision of necessary personal protective safety equipment is the responsibility of the permit holder.
