Cold storage facilities are located adjacent to Blyde No 1 berth. This enables product to be simultaneously handled across the wharves and to or from road/rail.
The cold store comprises three rooms with a total storage capacity of over 19,000 cubic meters.
The rooms are independently controlled and capable of maintaining operating temperatures down to minus 25 degrees centigrade.

The dry store can hold up to 24,000 tonnes of product and the cold store 4,500 tonnes.
Both the dry store and the cold store feature areas (ELAs) which permit the loading and unloading of both rail wagons and trucks in all weathers.
